connect with me is easily one of my five favorite songs. it was written about my fiancee, gwen – back when i first met her. i remember bringing the lyrics to a pool hall where she worked at the time (babe’s in washington dc – now closed down). she looked floored. i don’t think she knew at the time that i was a serious songwriter. she knew me as a poolplayer and a bit of a wise a$$. this song features a beautiful guitar solo – the kind that is melodic and direct yet highly emotional in tone.
